So my mother just told me about a song that my grandfather used to sing to her and six siblings. It's called "Let's Go Milk A Bull".
Let's go milk a bull
Let's go milk a bull
There's only one tit to pull.
It's in the middle
As big as a fiddle
Oh let's go milk a bull!
When I heard this, I couldn't stop laughing. Just had to share.

My Little 'Bro-ny' ~Part 2
So, some time ago I made fun of not only the term but the whole concept behind "bro-nies". In case you're not in the know, a "bro-ny" is a guy who is a fan of the TV show My Little Pony. Most often, they are considered men who are well above the age group that the show was created for.
Now, why am I bringing this topic up again? Well, that's because I had a change of heart where the TV show My Little Pony is concerned. I sat down and watched a few episodes with my brother some time ago, and I must say, I finally get what all the hype has been about.
My Little Pony is one of those shows that goes under the guise of being a kids' show, but in reality it is way more than that. It teaches life lessons and in each episode the characters must work together to get past some daily trouble. If you pay attention, you'll notice that most of the time the troubles they need to work past are things that we deal with everyday. My Little Pony has just placed a fun spin on it.
In other words, I take back what I said about My Little Pony being just for kids. If you haven't already, give the show a shot.

Cronuts and Prairie Dogs
Today I got four cronuts. A friend of mine wanted to do a pick-up, but wanted there to actually be a decent amount left when she got there, so she called in an order. The thing is, to make an order you need to have at least 50 cronuts in the order. She didn't want that many. So she sent out an email saying she was going make an order and if anyone wanted any they needed to let her know how many they wanted and they needed to pay up. You can imagine she got quite a few requests.
The flavor of the month is blueberry by the way.
Now, a little bit ago someone showed me this 30 second long youtube video that just seems absolutely silly and make you question why you're watching it. But, it is just downright funny. Enjoy.

Moms Make The World Go 'Round
Hello there!
I know that it's been a while, but I've just had a lot on my plate recently. Getting back to business, a few days ago I came across this article about a remarkably brave woman, by the name of Elizabeth Joice, who had a past history of cancer. This was a cancer that through many treatments, was thought to have been 'eradicated'. However, it was learned only a few months into her very first pregnancy that the cancer had returned.
She could undergo chemotherapy for the cancer, but the dyes used for the treatment would have an impact on her pregnancy. Due to this, she chose to forgo the treatment and instead go through with the pregnancy. Due to complications, Elizabeth's baby was delivered 6 weeks early in January of this year(2014) via c-section. She was named Lily. Elizabeth Joice succumbed to her cancer nearly 6 weeks after her daughter's birth.
I love this article and the story behind it because this woman wasn't afraid to set aside her own life for that of her own child's. It wasn't a definite that the chemotherapy would work, so to take that chance and possibly ruin two lives instead of one would seem a little heartless to me. This is my own opinion, I don't speak for the world because I know everyone has their own opinion.
To read the above article here is the link.
This article made me think of another incident that happened this past September(2013). The woman that this incident involves will forever be my role-model, and there are reasons for that other than this incident. I was able to find an article about the incident. The woman who was involved in this incident is a friend of mine named MaryJane. What happened was something that can happen to just about anyone in the world.
MaryJane was doing her morning run through the park with her 8 month old(at the time) in his stroller when she was suddenly attacked. She was tackled to the ground by an unknown man and was scared. But she wasn't truly scared for herself, she was scared for her baby. What she did next was truly inspirational. She reached into the basket of the stroller and pulled out a bicycle pump. She beat the man with the pump until he ran away.
In the midst of it all, MaryJane cared more for the well-being of her own child that for herself. When I first heard what had happened to my friend, my reaction was different from everyone else's reactions. I walked up my friend and said to her "Go Supermom!". It was only after I walked away that I realized I hadn't asked if she was okay. When I went back and said so, she said she was happy for it. I guess everyone had been saying the same exact thing to her over and over again, treating her like she was breakable. It still baffles me as to why some people would do that, she basically proved that she isn't with the occurrence of this incident. Some people.

If You Live In NYC...
Okay, if you live in the city and you've never been to one of the many PAPAYA restaurants that are scattered all over the overly populated city, then you're totally missing out. Today I went to one of these fabulous locations with my friends for lunch. It was one of the best meals that I've had in a while outside of my home.
Sorry Grandma.
She makes amazing food. Though technically I haven't been over at her place to eat the food she makes in a little while. Every now and then she comes over to make food or bring it over, or just sends some over. Either way, my Grandma's food is just downright delicious. Then again, why wouldn't homemade Dominican food be delicious?
Back on subject, if you've never ever been to a PAPAYA restaurant, then get up off your butt and find one!!! You are missing out until you do. Go eat PAPAYA and die happily, or else.

Computer Spring Cleaning
So I was going through different folders and files on my computer to see what I could trash, and in process I even found some things that I had long forgotten about for a couple of years at least. The reason for this clean up was because my computer was beginning to get a "little" cluttered in areas that I had formally designated to myself as off-limits to clutter. Getting to the interesting stuff now, I happened across two funny little pics, one of which is related to a movie(or two) while the other is just for fun.

The Inconvenient Truth Behind Waiting For Superman
So I had this class assignment where I needed to answer this long list of extremely detailed questions, but to answer them I needed to watch this short documentary. The documentary is basically a "return fire" response to the documentary "Waiting For Superman" that hit theaters nationwide in the U. S. "Waiting For Superman" painted NY educators, as well as those throughout the nation, as the enemy and the cause of our currently failing school systems. In the documentary "The Inconvenient Truth Behind Waiting For Superman", you're shown the reality of the work that educators do and what the real cause for our failing school system is.

My Crazy Summer Curse Part #2
Well I thought that I'd continue on with the happenings behind my my Summer Curse, but before I get to that, I just realized how bad my manners have gotten. I never said happy New Year. Eh, kind of pointless now, huh? Anyway, onto the latest happening of my lovely Summer Curse.
It was on the last day of the school year in 2010, and I wouldn't be seeing my friend for a while. After walking with her to her train station, I'd retraced my steps back to my station. Beginning down the stairs and staying next to the hand rail, which had become a habit do to my many accidents, I conveniently slipped on some garbage that a fellow citizen felt too lazy to carry to its proper disposal area. Had I not been near the hand rail and been able to grab hold of it, I might have been in some serious trouble. It's a good thing that I wasn't. When I fell, I cried out in pain slightly and let out some tears, but that was it. I felt that I was okay. Until I tried to get up and start walking.
Many people saw me fall and injure myself. Everyone kept on walking and did not even bother with a glance in my direction. I sat there in shock, attempting to compose myself and barely comprehending somewhere in the back of my mind that I should call my mother or somebody for help. Then, a man ran down next to me and asked me if I was okay and even what happened. I was so grateful for just that little bit of consideration. Once I told him what the issue was he asked if I had anyone to call for help and if I needed a phone. While I called, he left saying he would get some ice, I thought maybe a small amount, but he returned with two full bags of ice for my foot.
Afterwards, he helped me up the stairs when he learned that no one would be able to pick me up. And when I asked if he could help me get into a taxi so I could get home, he did so even going so far as to pay for the entire fare for me. At first I was hesitant when taking assistance from this strange man, but he was very kind, telling me of his girlfriend and how she had injured her leg as well the month before. I'm quite sure that I may have made that kind man late to wherever it was that he was going, and for that I am very sorry. But, what I do regret even more is that I will never be able to properly say thank you to that kind Samaritan.

My Crazy Summer Curse- part #1
Towards the end of my final year in middle school, I picked up a curse somewhere. That was the year 2007, and for nearly four years I was the sorry victim of what I've decidedly dubbed the My Summer Curse. The main features of this curse were that towards the beginning of summer, or the end of the current school year, I would suddenly somehow injure one of my legs. It could be a sprain, fracture, or simply me over extending the joint in a particular direction. No matter, something would always occur and ruin the beginning of my summer, and sometimes even its entirety. The curse didn't end there though, just when I'd come rather close to being just about completely healed, near the end of the summer I would in some manner injure myself again.
One of my most vivid memories of My Summer Curse is that of the end of my final year in middle school. My class was on the last day of a 3-day trip to Washington D.C., and as we were all waiting to depart that very morning, it so happened that there was a decently sized pot-hole in the most inconvenient place behind our coach bus. Two chaperons that had already stepped in it had failed to mention its existence before I so conveniently stepped into it and twisted my left ankle. Since we weren't in NY, an emergency room wasn't an option apparently, and since the coach bus driver wasn't being paid to sit around and watch an 8th grader while the rest of the grade wandered around D.C. taking in the sights, I had to walk on the thing for at least another 3 hours.
By the time we returned to NY and I got home, once I'd taken off my sneaker, I was able to take in quite the sight. My ankle had swollen up to the size of a grapefruit. No joke. After we got my ankle checked out, we learned that I twisted my ankle to the point that I fractured a bone in my leg. And me walking on it for a good few hours did not help the matter at all. When I returned to school after the incident, my classmates couldn't comprehend how it could be so bad. Some were in disbelief due to the fact that I had been walking a great deal after the fact on the trip. I just smiled at them and told them that they should be happy it wasn't them.

In Sickness And In Health
I absolutely hate being under the weather. Right I've caught, drum roll please... the common cold. Isn't that lovely. My throat is sore, my nose is running at the most inconvenient moments. Best of all I am getting zero sleep because I can't breathe at night. Fantastic.
Okay I'll stop whining. No promises though. I mean, it is now that time of the year. If you haven't gotten your flu shot yet, then get it together and move! You do not want to get the flu, any strain or variation of it. A cold is bad enough. Believe me I know, the girl who can handle multiple broken limbs, sprains, and even stitches, cannot take even the slightest dose of allergy season.
Don't get sick please, 'cause if you do you tend to spread it. ;P

Was On Facebook...
I was on Facebook a moment ago when I came across this post from Funny Mama. If you want a direct link to this specific post that is shown above, here it is. Also you can check out their website while your at it, they tend to have a lot of crazy stuff all of the time. Crazy, but hilarious and good. Some of it, what am I saying, the majority of it you need to understand the underlying context in order to get the joke or pun or whatever, etc., etc. Pretty much like the one here. If you're not into Pokémon, or if you've just never really watched the show, then you're most likely not going to get it.
Well, I'm going to try and keep on writing, please do try to keep on reading.

Need To Start Writing Again
It's certainly been a while since I last posted here. Last time I believe was May 20th, 2012. That's over a month ago now that I think about it. I really need to start writing again, not just here on the blog, but in general. It's been a while since I just sat down and wrote something like a poem. Or even since I sat down and decided to work on my book. Writing brings a bit of calmness to my mind, a kind of peace that is hard for my to find in everyday life. Painting, art, sometimes music can do it for me too, reading books does it spectacularly. But, I need to start writing again. The book I spoke of just a moment ago that I'm writing, I am only about 6-7 pages into it and I have been writing it off and on for about 2 1/2 years. I have the story line, character profiles, genre(s), plot(s), twists and turns, etc., etc., all of it. I have it all right here in my head and it hasn't gone anywhere since the day it smacked my upside the head. Figuratively, of course. It hasn't faded, drifted or even dwindled in the slightest. If anything, over time it has grown into an even greater story than I originally thought it could ever become.
So really I need to start writing again, because I've been starting to get more and more ideas for my book as of late and it's driving me to the edge of insanity because I haven't written them down on paper. Better hurry before my ADHD self becomes completely hyper-focused on just the book. So much so that I'm unable to eat or sleep. Ha ha ha. Just kidding about the eat or sleep thing.

Individuality and Conformity
There is a lot of tension that exists between conformists and those who wish to be individual. Sometimes a conformists by some standards can be considered either a team player or even a blind follower. While an individual can also be considered either an obnoxious deviant or heroic and/or unique. Each has their own flaws and each can work to either benefit society or bring it down to its knees. Examples of this are:
- Nazism and the Holocaust
- Driving Laws
- Body Image
- Clothing Style
- Classroom
- Police Presence
- Music
- Religion
For each and every one of these that are listed, sometimes it is better to conform. Sometimes it is so because it helps people. But other times, it is better to not do so. Because doing so can cause more pain to those around you, it can push back and lock away into the darkest parts of yourself who you truly are.
In what is a majorly popular experiment to refer back to as well as repeat over again in the field of psychology, Asch Experiment tries to capture and take into account how many people in their control group would conform to the situation they were presented with.
It was discovered that during the beginning of the experiment the test subjects kept to their beliefs and individuality. But as the experiment continued on, the subjects began to conform to the group that they had been placed in. Each subject was tested separately from the others within a group made up of actors. These actors were told to choose incorrect answers every time. Even if the subject knew otherwise than what was being said by the group, they did not wish to feel left out.
In my own eyes I am not certain as to whether or not I am either a conformist or an individual or even a mixture of the two. But I can say that I prefer not to "go with the flow" when I comes to clothing style. I wear the kind of clothes that I like to wear, not those that everyone else does. Those that people think are the new fashion, the kind of clothing that girl like wearing to make themselves look like sluts. Do excuse my French.
It's the same with my body image, the girls that you see on the covers of magazines, the size of Popsicle sticks, who wants to be that skinny. Being that skinny in some peoples' eye may look beautiful, but who would want to be so skinny that they are also so unhealthy?
Thinking about it, it's possible that I'm a bit more of an individual than a conformist. I think this is a good thing for me in many aspects, but that same individuality could also be turned down a notch. It's seriously feeding my egotistic pride at times.

My Little 'Bro-ny'
I am just going to assume that the people that are reading this, if there are people reading this, already know what My Little Pony is. If you don't, it is a cartoon for little girls all about magical talking ponies with annoying high pitched voices. Now, there are some people who end up watching the show even though they aren't little girls. This is mostly due to the fact that they are guys that have little kids that watch the show and thus force them to watch it with them. Eventually these guy get absorbed into the show and start to enjoy it. This began a few years ago an I'm guessing some people know this already, but to try to hold onto the bit of manhood they had left these guys decided to call themselves "Bro-nies".
I bet you are wondering why I am bringing this subject to light. Well the answer is quite simple really, I just learned this past weekend that my younger brother is in fact a "Bro-ny". He can call it manly all he wants, but nothing is farther from the truth.

Days Like These
It's days like these, when I wake up and I am so tired I think that I could die that I just want to stay home and stay in bed all day. The thing is though, I know that I can't do that because I need to leave the house, go to school and learn what I need to learn. Sometimes I am happy with what I learn and so it can wake me up just a slight bit. But other times the material just bores the heck out of me. So much that I feel as if my brain is oozing out of my ears. Most of the time it has to do with me already knowing the material or I am not just not that interested in learning the specific topic. Jeez, I seem to always go off on tangents whether it's in my writing or in conversation. Okay, okay. Yes, I know. I'll stop talking now.

6 Word Memoir
Too many tragedies in the news.
Some can easily make me cry.
Others can fill me with fear.
Politicians say they'll end our wars.
Most will just start new ones.
Power can corrupt even the good.
Those it doesn't can end wars.
But only if it is wanted.
Some can easily make me cry.
Others can fill me with fear.
Politicians say they'll end our wars.
Most will just start new ones.
Power can corrupt even the good.
Those it doesn't can end wars.
But only if it is wanted.
